The Lakers have loaded up on nonperishable donations in hopes of helping local families over the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Indian Lake High School Key Club held an All-District Food Drive during the month of November. Nearly 3,900 items were collected. Key Club members filled up several vehicles and took the canned food items, cake and bread mixes and other boxed foods to the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry ahead of the holiday break.
Students at ILHS donated 609 items with Mr. Stanford's class bringing in the most.
ILES students collected 1,377 items and Mrs. Abbot's class had the highest number of donations.
Finally, ILMS students were proud to bring in the most items in the district with 1,892 nonperishables. Mr. Anders' 6th graders were the top giving class.
Those classes will receive donuts courtesy of the ILHS Key Club and ILMS Builders Club.

Indian Lake students stuffed the giant wooden turkey, stuffed boxes and stuffed barrels all over campus this week for the district's annual Food Drive. The result was a truck stuffed full of food for folks in our area. ILHS Key Club members gathered up the donations and delivered them to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry in Russells Point. Key Club is sponsoring donuts for each homeroom class at ILHS, ILMS and ILES that brought in the most nonperishables.
